After talks with Anderson County. Anderson County came through for the residents of Homeland Park and Wellington Historical Park is now currently being renovated. As of today Jan.13, 2022 The baseball field has been redone, new dugouts, a brand new asphalt basketball court with the Goalpher system installed. (Awaiting basketball goals.) This section is dedicated to updates on the renovation at Wellington Historical Park.
Some time after this video was posted, Walter met Brock Elder. Brock had been working with a non-profit organization called Over Under Initiative. O.U.I. takes old basketball courts and repairs them and installs a new piece of equipment called the "Goalpher" system. The goalpher system is a very unique design where a soccer goal is installed in the ground and can easily raise out of the ground so that kids can use it for soccer, street hockey etc.
